Patient monitoring and therapy devices generate a broad range of medical alarms. Some alarms are actionable, while others are simply informational. Audible alarms of different priority sometimes overlap and compete for the attention of care givers which can lead to patient safety risks when important alarms are missed.

The Ascom / Sentec interface solution enables the transmission of clinical or technical alarms and patient data from the Sentec transcutaneous patient monitoring platform to the care unit’s secondary notification devices. The Ascom alert management can transfer, prioritize and distribute alerts from the Sentec monitoring system to the central dashbord and mobile devices of designated care providers according to the department protocols.

• Ascom solution integrates with Sentec transcutaneous patient monitors through ethernet connection and acquires parameters, settings, and alarms that provide clinicians with the information and insight to make well-informed, accurate, timely care decisions
• Transcutaneous PCO2, PO2, SpO2, and pulse rate (PR) measurement data from multiple Sentec patient monitors in the hospital network can be viewed on Ascom’s Smart Central
• Status of Sentec monitors and associated alarms is available on Smart Central and on smartphones (including the Ascom Myco smartphone)
• Sentec alarms are automatically routed to the responsible caregiver’s portable device for each monitored bed
• Integrate a variety of other bedside medical devices in the hospital network
