The Head of ICT Business Applications is a first level management position that oversees a group of IT professionals that design, develop, integrate, support, and maintain applications that are needed by various organizations and programs within the business. This position is accountable for proactively and holistically leading or supporting Ascom enterprise architecture (EA) activities that create deliverables that guide business models, people, process, organizational change, and investments in response to disruptive forces and toward achieving targeted business outcomes.

Your Contributions:

  • Collaborate with key business stakeholders to drive strategy and foster innovation planning.
  • Work with digital strategy and innovation teams to create an IT investment roadmap in partnership with the Head of Global ICT Operations.
  • Ensure applications and integrations are designed and developed to meet business objectives, ensuring quality and resource efficiency.
  • Oversee IT change requests, ensuring they receive proper approval from governing boards before implementation.
  • Design and manage software lifecycles that align with current and future business needs.
  • Lead and coordinate resources and activities within the IT Application Management team, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Plan, implement, and follow up on the rollout of tools and IT applications.
  • Stay informed on updates to Microsoft Dynamics AX and other core solutions through ongoing learning and activities.
  • Build and maintain team competencies within the IT Application Management organization.
  • Manage financial budgets and oversee cost center performance.
  • Ensure adherence to production system change processes, tracking and managing changes for compliance.
  • Provide governance and direction to maintain productive relationships with IT vendors and prioritize team objectives effectively.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Demonstrated success in building and maintaining supplier relationships.
  • Exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
  • Proactive, ambitious, and results-driven, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Expertise in development tools like Microsoft .NET, EPI Server, Microsoft SharePoint, ERP systems, and ServiceNow.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of agile software development methodologies such as Kanban and Scrum.
  • Fluent in English, both written and spoken, with strong communication skills.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of MS SQL databases, technical solution design, and programming expertise in .Net, JAVA, etc., with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred.
  • Extensive experience in IT application management, project execution, and support.
  • Proven ability to lead complex, enterprise-wide software projects using Agile and Scrum frameworks.
  • Solid experience in managing IT budgets and resource allocation effectively.
