What are you going to do?
The Head of Solutions is responsible for managing the regional Ascom portfolio in the segments of Acute Care, Long Term Care & Enterprise. To that end the Head of Solutions drives cross-functional teams responsible for :
- Solution definition through market sensing activities in close cooperation with the regional Segment Experts, Regional Product Managers and Architects. Evaluating customer requirements and competition moves. Thereby both establishing a vision for the segment as well as driving a roadmap for the innovations in the segment through solution/product managers
- Discovery of product concepts and customer requirements through Partners, subject matter experts and selected strategic customer interactions.
- Managing the Product Life Cycle process to keep the portfolio up to date.
- Regional development and quality assurance while following global processes.
- Support regional and global marketing to allow it to position Ascom’s solutions in the most attractive way, thereby gaining market traction and seeking clear market differentiation vs competition.
The Head of Solutions works above all strategically, defines and implement product/portfolio and organizational strategies, analyse market trends with the objective to serve and evolve existing customers, as well as to attract new customers. Thereby envisioning a profitable growth of the Ascom business.
In this role it is key to connect and successfully collaborate with customers, sales, marketing, Professional Services, Customer Care and global and regional operations functions to properly plan, scope and prioritize product life cycle based on business and customer impact.
Key Responsibilities:

Lead Teams: Guide cross-functional teams of Product Managers, Solution Architects, and Segment Experts.

Strategic Planning: Define and align vision, strategy, and roadmap to boost market share.

Drive Innovation: Oversee product innovation and improvement based on market data.

Market Analysis: Lead market investigations and influence product strategy.

Collaborate: Work closely with R&D, marketing, sales, and operations to deliver products to market.
What do you need?
- Master’s degree in Science, Engineering, Marketing, Technology, Business Administration, Economics, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in product or portfolio management in complex environments.
- At least 5 years of leadership experience in a global, multi-cultural setting.
- Technical understanding of relevant products and solutions (e.g., healthcare IT, mobile communications, software).
- Experience in IT, telecommunication, or healthcare sectors.
- Strong marketing experience for complex B2B products.
- Proven track record of integrating technologies to meet customer needs.
- Experience in cloud and software product management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Proficiency in English and regional language.
