System Engineer

We are now looking for a new colleague to join our Service & Operations team in the role of System Engineer. You will be part of an ambitious team that works closely together to provide our customers with the best service and follow-up, both onsite and remote.

In the role of System Engineer, we want to give you firsthand experience of what it's like to work with technology at the forefront of the healthcare sector, and how we make a difference and impact lives in the community. This role also has a high focus on working with Ascom’s personal safety solutions for customers in the security segment, such as prisons.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Participate in projects related to the establishment of new Ascom systems.
  • Project/contract work, including commissioning and testing.
  • Handling technical incidents of varying difficulty both onsite at the customer and via remote support.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues, both hardware (HW) and software (SW).
  • Ensure high customer satisfaction with excellent follow-up, documentation, and report writing.
  • Maintain good communication with the customer and a positive attitude.
  • Manage systems based on critical communication and high security.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and project managers in the team.
  • Test and upgrade our customer solutions.
  • Eventually participate in a 24/7 on-call schedule.
  • Work within the security segment, including environments such as prisons.

Requirements:

  • The role is security-classified, which means you must undergo a security clearance and be approved to take on the role.
  • B-class driver's license.
  • Willingness to travel.

Technical Experience and Skills:

  • Technical Engineering: Mid-level (Practical education)
  • Application Engineering: Mid-level (Practical education)
  • H&S: Certified according to local regulations and Basic H&S awareness
  • An engineering approach with connotations of precision, predictability, measurement, risk mitigation, and professionalism
  • 5+ years’ experience in a technical System Engineering position or similar
  • Experience with digital tools, good system understanding and experience with network hardware such as switches, routers, etc.
  • Experience working in projects and customer service.
  • Experience with the Windows platform (installation, configuration, setup, and operation).
  • Knowledge of telecommunications and networking, including TCP/IP and SIP.
  • Understanding and interest in GSM, 4G, Wi-Fi is beneficial but not required.
  • Experience in the healthcare sector is an advantage.

Personal Qualities:

  • Strong customer service skills and ability to write reports well.
  • Analytical, structured, and quality-conscious.
  • A team player, but also independent with the ability to plan your own workday and meet deadlines.
  • Quick learner, with an affinity and interest in technical and IT-related subjects.
  • Fluent in Swedish and good English skills, both written and spoken.
